Computer Tips

• Keep your Operating System and Internet Browser up to date with the latest security patches.
• Use anti-virus software and keep it updated.
• Use a firewall to protect your computer.
• Avoid accessing your online account using public or shared computers which you don’t fully trust, like those in internet cafes or computers belong to someone else.
• Never leave your computer unattended while you are logged in to the online account.
• Use a password on your computer to prevent unauthorized individuals from accessing your information.
• Disable the “auto complete” and "remember password" function within your browser to prevent browser from storing your password and account information.
• Clear your browsers cache and history after each session to prevent others from seeing your personal information cached by your internet browser.

General Tips

• Never share your account details with anyone.
• Store your account documents such as statements checkbooks in safe places.
• Be careful with any discarded that has account information to minimize the risk.
• Be aware of any unusual accounts activity or transactions; review your transactions regularly to make sure they have been made by you.

Online/Email Tips

• Be careful for scam e-mails. These are designed to trick you into downloading a virus.
• Be careful about opening an e-mail with an attachment, especially when it comes from unknown sender. They may contain viruses or other forms of malicious software.
• Be careful before clicking on a link contained in an email or other message. The link may redirect you to a fake website that tricks you to enter your account details.
• Sign out every time you complete your online session; do not just close your browser window.

Password Tips

• Keep your password secret and don't disclose it to anyone.
• Use strong login passwords.
• Use both letters and numbers and a combination of lower case and capital letters.
• Choose passwords that are difficult for others to guess. Use a different password for each of your accounts.
• Do not write your account details. on paper or store it on shared devices such as computers and mobile phones.
